The Hamptons Music Club: Part 2 - Unlocking the Stories Behind the Music
Classical music often tells rich, dramatic stories without words. This session focuses on pieces that have a narrative element, like Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker or Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Highlight how composers use instruments and melodies to create characters, moods, and scenes.

Associate conductor Logan Souther hosts The Hamptons Music Club, joined by members of the New American Sinfonietta Orchestra. Part II in this five part virtual series will show how classical music is a form of storytelling and gives participants the tools to “hear” those stories within the music.
The Hamptons Music Club meets virtually on a monthly basis, the link to join will be sent directly before the meeting.
Selections of classical music will be played and participants will be invited to imagine the story being told before revealing the actual narrative.
